About the journal
Matthew, on the road between weather and lore
Ghost Roads Southwest is a roadside journal kept by one traveler, following West Texas and New Mexico highways through changing skies and quiet towns.

Who writes this
A camera, a notebook, and a long drive
Matthew documents the Southwest through personal observation, camera work, and roadside journaling. Most entries begin on recurring drives across West Texas, New Mexico, and beyond, where the land is wide enough to notice small changes in the weather. He writes about travel, storm fronts, creative projects in progress, and the Ghost Roads Universe, treating each as part of one ongoing record rather than separate publications.
The project keeps returning to a few questions: how quiet transitions in the sky shape a place, what empty topography holds, and where everyday details start to feel like story.
Field ethos
I like leaving room for a place to stay a little mysterious.
